The Bayerisches Geoinstitut is funded by the European Union as a "Large Scale Scientific Facility" under the "Human Capital and Mobility Programme". Visiting scientists from EU countries who wish to use the experimental (especially high pressure) facilities of the Institute are funded through this programme.
