was elected in October by the Mineralogical Society of America to receive the "MSA Award 1996".

was awarded the Victor-Moritz-Goldschmidt-Preis by the Deutsche Mineralogische Gesellschaft.

received a Heisenberg-Stipendium from the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft.
David C. RUBIE
was elected Fellow of the Mineralogical Society of America.
Angelika SEBALD
was elected as a member of "Vorstand" of the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Discussion Group of Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker for the period 1/97 - 12/2000.
Ralf WEIGEL
was elected in September by the Bayerische Staatsregierung to receive the Meister-Preis for his "Staatlich geprüfter Elektrotechniker" examination results.
