The Geoinstitut invites applications for Visiting Scientist positions. Positions are open to scientists of any career stage and the visit duration can range from two weeks up to two years.

The main focus of the Geoinstitut is to investigate the structure, composition and processes occurring in the interiors of the Earth and other planets, primarily through experiments at high pressures and temperatures. Research topics include, but are not restricted to, the physical and chemical properties of mantle minerals, the crystal structure of minerals at high pressure, phase transitions, phase equilibria, kinetics, rheology and textural evolution during high-strain deformation, properties of silicate liquids and chemical and physical processes of planetary core formation.
